Bray Leino BroadSkill moves up the ranks

04 June 2009

The table of the top 50 training companies as researched by Pardo Fox each year is recently published showing Bray Leino BroadSkill gaining 6 places from 37 to 31 in 2008 with a turn over of £4.5m. from IT training related activity.   From the research a number of key trends have been identified.  At a macro level the market is shrinking and in the last quarter of 2008 this trend set in, as in the first half of the year the market actually grew by 11%.  It is expected to contract by as much as 10% in 2009.

General sentiment is that any up turn is a considerable way off and existing spending trends are related to those organisations that commissioned new systems a few years ago and currently these are being rolled out.  The general trend is that people are buying in smaller volumes, just in time.

Increasingly businesses are switching to in-house events and Bray Leino BroadSkill is well positioned to support those companies wanting to work with a specialist bespoke training delivery partner.  In 2008 the company delivered 14,000 bespoke training days across its portfolio  A key driver for our clients is to save on travel and expenses and in many cases these budgets have been cut further than the training budgets.  In addition Bray Leino BroadSkill has seen a rise in the demand for bespoke eLearning and Virtual Classrooms using its pioneering LIVELearn platform.  For sure the current economic situation is driving increased deployment of Blended Learning.  Finally we experience a continued demand for accredited programmes especially in Prince2 and ILM.

Businesses that are not in a position to give bonuses are considering training as a tax deductable reward and it is known to have a tremendously positive effect on staff morale.  Investing in training sends out a powerful message in that the business is investing in its people for its future.  Accepting this companies have to think how best to invest in training and develop programmes that motivate across all generational age groups.

"The market is changing and as a leading UK training organisation we believe with our focus on designing and delivering bespoke training means we are extremely well placed to continue our growth in these market conditions" quotes Henry Jodrell, Managing Director. He goes on to comment "linking in with one of the UK's top 20 communications groups in March 2008 has enabled us to develop a range of new media and employee engagement capabilities which clients are increasingly turning to."
