Virtual Classrooms
LIVELearnTM is all about immersive learning both collaborative and supportive.
The benefits of not having to use and travel to a traditional classroom not only cuts costs but delivers training in an alternative learning environment. LIVELearnTM is Bray Leino's virtual classroom environment using avatars. This media is suitable for any type of traditional classroom led training. Users log into a classroom on their PC and using a headset, interact with the tutor and other delegates as they would in real life. Training is evaluated in real time and instant feedback enables immediate learning.
Virtual Classroom benefits are:-
- System and IT Training - provides an alternative and potentially neutral space away from the ‘traditional' classroom, which can be socially inclusive for those learners which the formal establishment has failed. Enables real time interactions which are not constrained by traditional ‘location' based environments.
- Support Networks - formal and informal, multiple support networks - from peer to peer through to trusted intermediaries. One huge benefit is the collaboration both for learners and educational practitioners.
- Learning and Teaching Dynamic - enables all learners to experience a greater variety of teaching and learning styles--great for kinesthetic and audiovisual styles! Different opportunity for greater range of interactions with the trainer. The traditional role of the trainer and the learner can become blurred, which potentially puts the learner more in control of their own learning.
- Flexible Learning - enables the learning to be more bite sized and delivered anytime - anyplace - rather than the institutional and non flexible 9-5 Monday to Friday. Helps to provide flexible learning pathways. Bring a national or even global team together in a virtual environment, logistics and geography need never be an issue.
A virtual classroom environment can be developed to mirror the workplace. Users are represented on screen by their personal avatar and can physically move such as walking around and putting their hands up to answer questions. They can show files and presentations as well as fully interacting with those around them. You can recreate any situation or object. For example, in the retail industry, you could recreate a store with a cash register and the delegate will be able to interact with it in order to learn how to use it as well as interacting with ‘virtual' Clients.
